Website Developer

“Your customers are searching the Internet. Will they find you?”

There is no debate that the Internet is the go to place for information, and if you want to compete, succeed, and profit you need to re-visit that old marketing adage, “location, location, location!” Certainly true for brick and mortar and certainly true for the web. A solid, well built website will give you the best opportunity to get to the top of Google. Integration with social media will make your website easy to share and spread. A well designed management system will allow you to control the content, giving you lot’s of flexibility. Learn how by reading below.

Development

Building from the ground up, I take care of all your needs to get your website up off the ground. First, I’ll assess your needs and help you choose a content management system (CMS) that is right for you, then I get you setup with your domain and hosting, installation of the appropriate components and plugins, design, module placement, and content.

Website building is a lot like constructing a house. You start with developing a plan, you pour the foundation (domain and hosting), put up framing (CMS), wiring and plumbing (plugins and components), interior and exterior finishing (template design), and finally, furnishings and paint (content and design).

Platforms

I specialize in building websites using popular content management systems, such as WordPress, Joomla, and Ning, and many others. The platform you build on serves as a frameworks for accomplishing your goals. Here is a summary of each and how they can be used.

Joomla

Joomla is the worlds most popular open source CMS. It is fully featured, stable and features a large community of developers that build add-on components that extend the platform, making it very flexible and fully featured.

WordPress

WordPress is another open source CMS that was originally built as a blogging platform, and has become a widely used platform for building websites and not just blogs. WordPress also features a community of volunteer developers who create plugins that extend the platforms function, yet it is not quite as flexible as Joomla. The backend management design is really what sets WordPress apart, making it easy for a novice to navigate and add/edit pages.

Ning

Ning is “the world’s largest platform for creating custom social websites, social networks and communities.” With millions of people signed up, Ning makes it easy to build your own social network and manage it too. Ning isn’t right for everybody, but if you want to grow an active, engaged audience then it could just be for you.

Tumblr

Blogging doesn’t have to be complicated. Tumblr gives you an easy way to share anything on the web, and it’s very popular too. Although the platform has a few limitations, it makes up for it in its discovery engine and ease of use.

Social Networks

I also develop on social networking platforms too. They are equally important to have a presence so that people can find you.
